New meeting with CIA director possible, Russian foreign intelligence chief says

The Russian and US intelligence chiefs last met at the headquarters of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization in Ankara on November 14

MOSCOW, January 17. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Intelligence Service Director Sergey Naryshkin said on Tuesday a new meeting with CIA chief William Burns was possible.

Asked whether another such meeting could take place, Naryshkin said: "This is possible." The timing for a new potential meeting may be determined "by agreement" between the parties, he added.

The Russian and US intelligence chiefs last met at the headquarters of Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization in Ankara on November 14. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the United States had insisted on the confidentiality of the communication channel between Burns and Naryshkin, but that information was immediately leaked when the American delegation arrived in Ankara.
