Russian air defenses repel Ukrainian MLRS attack on Berdyansk

According to the administration, there were no civilian casualties or major damage

MELITOPOL, January 17. /TASS/. Russian air defense units have repelled the Ukrainian military’s attempt to shell the city of Berdyansk using multiple launch rocket systems, the city’s military-civilian administration said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Last night, Ukrainian forces used multiple launch rocket systems to carry out a shelling attack on the city of Berdyansk in order to terrorize the Zaporozhye Region’s civilian population. The Russian Armed Forces’ air defense units downed all rockets fired at the city’s residential areas," the statement reads.

According to the administration, there were no civilian casualties or major damage. "Preliminary reports say that a private residence and a civilian transport vehicle were damaged," the authorities specified.

Chairman of the We Stand With Russia movement Vladimir Rogov said on Monday night that Russian forces had opened fire at Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over Berdyansk.
