Five DPR towns welcome evacuees from Soledar, official says

It is noted that the number of arrivals ranges from 200 to 250

DONETSK, January 16. /TASS/. Five towns in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have been accommodating people who evacuated from Soledar and its outskirts, Shakhtyorsk Mayor Alexander Shatov told TASS on Monday.

According to the mayor, "Shakhtyorsk has been joined by four more towns - Khartsyzsk, Snezhnoye, Torez and Kirovskoye."

According to him, the number of arrivals ranges from 200 to 250. Groups of evacuees arrive regularly. Those who arrive in Shakhtyorsk are being sent to temporary accommodation centers elsewhere, he specified.

Torez Mayor Dmitry Lysenko told TASS that just over 60 evacuees from Soledar were currently staying in an accommodation center in his town.

Russian forces completed the liberation of Soledar from the Ukrainian army late on Thursday, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported earlier. Full control of the city would make it possible to cut off supply routes of Ukrainian troops in Artyomovsk located southwest of there and subsequently block the city and entrap the Ukrainian military there, the general explained.
