Russian Guardsmen strike Ukrainian army strongholds in Kherson, Zaporozhye regions

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. The Russian Guardsmen uncovered a weapons cache and delivered a strike on Ukrainian army strongholds in the Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, the Guard’s press office told TASS on Monday.

"The Russian Guard’s artillery uncovered and struck the Ukrainian army’s two strongholds and two observation posts equipped on the right bank of the Dnieper River," the press office said.

Over the past week, the Russian Guard’s units jointly with other law-enforcement agencies identified 10 suspected accomplices of the Ukrainian army who operated in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, it said.

In addition, the Russian Guardsmen seized weapons and munitions from illegal circulation, in particular, hunting rifles, Fagot and Metis anti-tank missiles, various types of grenade launchers and associated rounds of ammunition, over 100 122mm shells, 125mm high-explosive fragmentation shells, SM-30 illuminating booby-traps, MON-50 anti-personnel mines, 40 hand grenades, over 5,000 cartridges, more than 2 kg of explosives and items that could be used for making explosives, the press office said.

"The Russian Guard’s artillery units focused their efforts on supporting reconnaissance and search, ambush and special targeted measures," it said.
