West tries to "cancel" Russia, to remove it from world map — Mishustin

As the Russian prime minister notes, due to sanctions, discrimination, pressures, Russia has to protect its own national interests

MOSCOW, May 27. /TASS/. The West is trying to "cancel" Russia, to remove it from the world map. Many spheres and even compatriots abroad are under pressure, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with the participants in the super-finals of the 4th contest Leaders of Russia on Friday.

"The world is changing rapidly," he said. "The West is trying to ‘cancel’ our country, to remove it from the map of the world. Financial, economic and humanitarian sanctions are being imposed. Discrimination and pressures are continuing on our science, sports, culture and our compatriots abroad. For the sole reason, we are protecting our own national interests," Mishustin said.

"The collective West has unleashed an economic war against us," Mishustin stated. Russia has been under various restrictive measures for quite a long time, he recalled. Over the past three months, a number of unprecedented sanctions have been adopted against the country. "More restrictions have been introduced against us than against any other state. Now there are over 10,000 of them," Mishustin said.
