Russia-NATO relations at lowest point in decades, senior Russian diplomat states

Alexander Grushko also noted that since Russia and countries of the European Union and NATO are neighbors, having a long history of cooperation, the parties will eventually have to look for ways to counter the present-day challenges and threats

MOSCOW, June 24./TASS/. Relations between Russia and NATO have reached their lowest point in decades, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told the 9th Moscow Conference on International Security on Thursday.

"Practically all cooperation on the track of common interests has been stopped, channels for a dialogue between the military have been blocked," the senior diplomat said.

"Cooperation with the EU is also tending to zero due to the efforts of the Russophobic lobby. Regretfully, the platform of the OSCE is used as an instrument of confrontation," he added.

Grushko also noted that since Russia and countries of the European Union and NATO are neighbors, having a long history of cooperation, the parties will eventually have to look for ways to counter the present-day challenges and threats.
