YouTube removes Russian video about protests in OSCE countries, says Russian envoy

On January 28, the envoy raised the issue of freedom of assembly in the OSCE region at a Permanent Council meeting, draawing the attention to a short videoclip which was supposed to clearly demonstrate the difference in treatment of protesters by law enforcement in Russia and certain Western countries

VIENNA, February 11. /TASS/. YouTube has taken down a Russian video uploaded to the hosting service about protest rallies in OSCE states which was demonstrated in the OSCE Permanent Council, Russia’s permanent representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich said Thursday at an online meeting of the council, speaking about media freedom violations in the OSCE region.

"We do not seek such popularity, but even our video about protests in the OSCE region shown in the Permanent Council was promptly removed by YouTube," he informed.

On January 28, Lukashevich raised the issue of freedom of assembly in the OSCE region at a Permanent Council meeting. He drew attention to a short videoclip which was supposed to clearly demonstrate the difference in treatment of protesters by law enforcement in Russia and certain Western countries. The video was also published on the website of Russia’s mission to the OSCE with a link to YouTube, but the video hosting service took it down.
