Fishing boat Kapitan Lobanov catches fire near Kaliningrad causing casualties

The regional authorities will provide support for the families of those affected

KALININGRAD, March 19. /TASS/. A fire has occurred on board the fishing boat The Kapitan Lobanov in the Kaliningrad Region. There were casualties. Governor Anton Alikhanov is closely watching the incident, the regional government's spokesman Dmitry Lyskov has told TASS.

"An emergency on the fishing boat Kapitan Lobanov caused a fire. There were casualties. The injured will be given all necessary medical aid," he said.

The regional authorities will provide support for the families of those affected.

"The situation is under the personal control of Governor Anton Alikhanov," Lyskov added.

This is not the first such incident involving The Kapitan Lobanov. On June 7, 2021, it capsized and partially sank near the town of Svetly. No one was harmed then.
