Number of people injured in St. Petersburg cafe explosion grows to 33 — Health Ministry

Currently, there are 22 people receiving medical treatment in St. Petersburg hospitals, with 8 in severe medical state, and 14 in medium or light severity state

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. The number of people injured by the explosion in the St. Petersburg cafe has reached 33, the Ministry of Health of told reporters Monday.

"According to the latest information, 33 people, including two teenagers, were injured and one person died in the cafe incident in St. Petersburg," the Ministry press office said.

Currently, there are 22 people receiving medical treatment in St. Petersburg hospitals, with 8 in severe medical state, and 14 in medium or light severity state. All injured people receive all necessary medical aid, the Ministry added.

On April 2, an explosion occurred in a cafe located on St. Petersburg’s Universitetskaya Embankment during an event hosted by military blogger Maxim Fomin, known as Vladlen Tatarsky. The blogger died immediately.
