MOSCOW, October 24. /TASS/. A technical fault and a crew error are the likely causes of a Su-30 fighter jet’s crash in Irkutsk in Eastern Siberia, the press office of Russia’s Investigative Committee reported on Monday.

"The investigative team is examining a technical fault and a piloting error as the main causes of the crash," the press office said in a statement.

Investigators are additionally examining the crash site, fuel samples and the unified gas charging station with medical oxygen. They have also arranged chemical and forensic studies, retrieved the fighter jet’s flight and technical documentation. The investigative team has also questioned the aircraft-building enterprise’s management and staff. The owners of the house destroyed in the jet’s crash have been recognized as the affected party, the press office said.

A Su-30 fighter jet belonging to the Irkutsk aviation enterprise crashed during a test flight on the evening of October 23, plunging into a two-story private house in the city. Two test pilots died in the crash. The owners of the house did not suffer in the incident.
