MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. /TASS/. AEON’s Northern Star will begin developing the Syradasaiskoye coal deposit on Taimyr (north of the Krasnoyarsk Region) in 2019, the region’s Acting Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Zakharinsky told the Northern Forum on Thursday.
"We see new companies," he said. "For example, AEON’s Northern Star in 2019 will begin developing the Syradasaiskoye coal deposit, which includes organization of a coal pit with the annual capacity of 10 million tonnes, construction of a sea port, a road (a railway line of 120 km - TASS) and an enriching factory."
The Syradasaiskoye coal deposit is 105-120 km south-east of Dikson on Taimyr. Earlier reports said the deposits reserves were estimated at 5.7 billion tonnes.
The Northern Forum - the biggest international non-governmental organization, which unites northern regions’ governors. The Northern Forum is an observer at the Arctic Council and has a consultations status at the UN ECOSOC. The organization unites Russia’s regions (Krasnoyarsk, Chukotka, Khanty-Mansi, Yugra, Sakha (Yakutia), Yamalo-Nenets, Magadan, Maritime, Kamchatka) and northern territories of Iceland, the U.S., the Republic of Korea, and Finland.
