More than 100 flights cancelled at Moscow airport due to snowfall

A total of 118 flights have been cancelled at Sheremetyevo International Airport and more than 48 flights have been delayed

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. A total of 118 flights have been cancelled at Sheremetyevo International Airport and more than 48 flights have been delayed on Monday morning amid a snowfall in Moscow.

Passengers face delays or cancellations of both international and domestic flights. Russian Aeroflot flagship carrier, Dutch KLM, Italian Alitalia, Air France and U.S. Delta have canceled their flights among other carriers.

Earlier, the press service of Sheremetyevo warned about possible short-time delays due to weather conditions. The Aeroflot press service has said the decision was made to cancel some domestic and international flights on Monday, December 4.

On Monday, the Moscow office of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations said strong winds, a snowfall and icy conditions were expected in Moscow and the Moscow region throughout the day. It warned about poor visibility, traffic jams, growing numbers of road accidents, damage to power transmission lines and falling of trees.
