TBILISI, February 19. /TASS/. Georgia imported over 78,200 tons of oil and petroleum products from Russia in January 2025, which is 1.5 times higher than in the same period in 2024, TASS found out after analyzing figures provided by the National Statistics Service of Georgia.
Imports of oil and petroleum products from Russia amounted to 78,266.58 tons worth $55.3 mln in January, according to the service. In the previous year, they stood at 51,253.96 tons worth $37.1 mln. Supplies from Russia hit a record high level in January, having surpassed deliveries in 2023 (75,070 tons).
Georgia’s total purchases of oil and petroleum products reached over 143,400 tons in January (up by 34.8%) worth more than $106.9 mln.
