Russian metals, machinery sectors requiring focused support — minister

MOSCOW, November 19. /TASS/. Russian metallurgical and machinery industries are in the zone of growth but certain plants require support, Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said.

"Concerning the metallurgy and machinery segments, this is a comprehensive issue. We will configure [government support instruments - TASS] to support operating plants, bearing in mind that they will require support with the working capital during the next several quarters, three-four ones," he said.

The metallurgic industry is in the zone of growth so far but there are risks of production decline due to the contraction of construction volumes, the minister said. Accordingly, the heavy machinery segment related to it is in the risk zone, he added.
