Raw tobacco imports from India up 1.6 times — Russian regulator

According to the regulator, 31,000 metric tons of raw tobacco from India were supplied in total to the Russian market in 2023

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Raw tobacco supplies from India to Russia surged by 1.6 times year on year to 5,700 metric tons from the start of 2024, the press service of the Russian Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision Service told TASS.

"Since early 2024 - 5,700 metric tons, which is 1.6 times higher against the like period of the last year, when 3,500 metric tons of raw tobacco were imported," it said.

According to the regulator, 31,000 metric tons of raw tobacco from India were supplied in total to the Russian market in 2023.
