BRUSSELS, March 6. /TASS/. The extraordinary summit of the EU leaders on April 17-18 will be dedicated to the discussion of economic and competitiveness problems of the European Union, a source in EU institutions in Brussels told TASS.
"The April summit will be dedicated to problems of the economy and competitiveness of the EU before the European elections in June," the source said.
"EU leaders decided in December [2023] to hold two summits before elections to the European Parliament. The summit in March [March 21-22 - TASS] will be dedicated to matters of security, defense and foreign policy," the source added.
Elections to the European Parliament will be held from June 6 to 9.
