MOSCOW, February 29. /TASS/. All solid waste in Russia that is subject to sorting should be sorted by 2030 and at least one-quarter of it must be recycled, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his State of the Nation Address to the Federal Assembly, or Russian parliament.
The head of state recalled that a modern waste management industry has been created in Russia from scratch, and 250 enterprises have been built to process and utilize waste. "The task by 2030 is to sort all solid waste and recycle at least one-quarter of it," the president said.
According to the president, additional funds will be allocated for such projects. About 400 more waste management facilities will be built, as well as eight eco-industrial parks across Russia.
