Issue of selling Sakhalin-2 stake to Novatek still on agenda — Novak

Russian Deputy Prime Minister noted that the project itself is operating stably and supplies gas for export

MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. The issue of selling a stake in the Sakhalin-2 project to Novatek remains on the agenda, legal details are being worked out, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.

"I think it’s still on the agenda. The legal details are just being worked out now," he said.

Novak noted that the project itself is operating stably and supplies gas for export.

In August, Novak did not rule out that the deal to include Novatek in the Sakhalin-2 project could be completed before the end of this year.

In April, the Russian government authorized the sale of just under 27.5% in the new operator of the Sakhalin-2 project, Sakhalin Energy, to a structure of Novatek for 94.8 bln rubles.
