CPC resumes oil shipments from terminal near Novorossiysk — company

On November 27, CPC stopped oil shipments from the sea terminal near Novorossiysk due to a storm

MOSCOW, November 30. /TASS/. Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has resumed oil shipments from a sea terminal near Novorossiysk it had to stop due to a recent storm, the company said in a statement.

"On November 30, 2023, at the marine terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, oil shipments to tankers were resumed, suspended due to the issued storm warnings from the captain of the port of Novorossiysk and actual adverse weather conditions," the statement says.

However, one single point mooring was damaged and taken out of service. Deliveries are carried out from the two remaining single point moorings.

On November 27, CPC stopped oil shipments from the sea terminal near Novorossiysk due to a storm. The company's tank farms were practically full, which is why it accepted oil from shippers at reduced rates.

CPC is the pipeline system connecting Kazakhstan with a seaport in Novorossiysk area, where tankers are loaded with oil for the supply to global markets. The 1,511 km long pipeline links oilfields in the West Kazakhstan with the marine terminal in Novorossiysk. CPC Marine Terminal is equipped with three Single Point Moorings that allow loading tankers safely at a significant distance offshore, also amid poor weather conditions.
