BISHKEK, October 25. /TASS/. The windfall tax target remains at 300 bln rubles ($3.21 bln), it is too early to calculate the payments, Deputy Minister of Finance Alexey Sazanov told reporters.
"Of course, the target amount of 300 bln rubles remains. I propose totaling the payments somewhere in the middle in December. When the payment period begins in October, everything will be crystal clear," Sazanov said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier signed the law imposing a 10-percent windfall tax on large companies. The law is to take effect on January 1, 2024, with the tax due by January 28, 2024, according to the document. Relevant tax revenues will go exclusively to the federal budget and the tax will represent a one-time levy, which is expected to bring in around 300 bln rubles ($3.19 bln) in additional revenue.
