Russia needs to bring processed products to Chinese seafood market — Fisheries agency

QINGDAO /China/, October 25. /TASS/. Russia sets the goal to enter China’s seafood market with processed products, head of the Federal Fisheries Agency of the Russian Federation Ilya Shestakov told TASS.

He said this while visiting the 26th International Chinese Seafood and Fisheries Exhibition in Qingdao (eastern Shandong Province).

"Our export volume to China is growing. Not only has it recovered to the pre-pandemic level, but it has become even bigger. Of course, the main supply includes white fish, first of all pollock, crab. Now we are actively working to expand the range of crab supplies to promote the market for the supply of already frozen products. And, of course, the task is to enter the final market of China with more deeply processed products," Shestakov said.

The China International Seafood and Fisheries Exhibition takes place in Qingdao on October 25-27. It hosts the Russian National Pavilion, organized by the Exposolutions group of companies with the support of the Federal Fisheries Agency. Its area exceeds 1,000 square meters. More than 40 Russian companies presented their products.
