BEIJING, March 30. /TASS/. Cargo flows and international transport corridors running through Russia’s territory are being adapted to the new environment, Chairman of Avtodor State Company Vyacheslav Petushenko said in an interview with TASS.

"Logistics corridors have changed as we are not very interested in Europe for today, but we are interested in the relationship and those cargoes that go between Russia and China," he said. "Moreover, we discussed trade through China with Southeastern and Central Asia. This information should be gathered and analyzed to understand what needs to be done," Petushenko added.

Some previously planned projects are now being rethought, Avtodor Chairman noted. "It should be said that the prospects for supply corridors and transport flows have now changed considerably. For example, last year we completed a feasibility study for the Meridian project (project on the construction of a highway from China to Europe, with a separate section to run through Russia - TASS). However, in the current environment we consider certain stages of the project from the viewpoint of development of inter-regional ties," he explained.

"Now we link it (Meridian - TASS) to the prospective route of the South-Eastern bypass road running from Yekaterinburg basically along the Volga, through Samara, Saratov, Volgograd, to the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, even to the Caspian Sea," the official said.
