MOSCOW, January 30. /TASS/. Sibur sees growth prospects for maleic anhydride (MAH) demand on the Russian market after its production was launched in 2022, Member of the Management Board, Executive Director Sergey Komyshan said in an interview with TASS.
"Yes, we believe [there are prospects of consumption growth]. We see the market reaction on domestic production. And in the future, considering a wide range of the use of maleic anhydride derivatives, the growth of MAH consumption may reach double digits," he said.
In April 2022, Sibur completed start-up and commissioning activities in Tobolsk at a new facility producing maleic anhydride with the capacity of 45,000 tons per year located on the territory of Zapsibneftekhim. Pilot production is underway at the facility now, whereas Sibur has already started suppling MAH to Asia.
