HAIKOU, December 16. /TASS/. Authorities of China's Haikou city (the administrative center of the southern province of Hainan) will issue another batch of consumer coupons with a total value of about 14 million yuan (about $2 million). This was reported by the Hainan Daily newspaper.
The campaign involves issuing 8 million yuan (about $1.14 million) worth of vouchers in December for retail shopping and purchases at duty-free malls. They will also be redeemable at catering establishments.
Haikou city government, together with the Meituan food delivery platform, will also issue special coupons in December to subsidize take-home food orders from restaurants in the city. The coupons will have a total value of about 6 million yuan (about $860,000).
Residents and visitors will be able to receive coupons using a special application of China's UnionPay payment system.
