Aeroflot cancels flights to North American countries from February 28 to March 2

It is possible to ask for a refund at the place of purchase, the company noted

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Aeroflot is cancelling flights to Mexico, the United States, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba from February 28 to March 2 over the Canadian airspace closure, the company said.

"Due to the closure of Canadian airspace, Aeroflot's transatlantic flights from Moscow and back to the following destinations have been canceled from February 28 to March 2, 2022: Mexico (Cancun - SU158/159), USA (Los Angeles - SU108/109; Miami - SU110/111; New York SU102/103 and SU124/125; Washington - SU104/105), Cuba (Havana - SU150/151; Varadero - SU154/155), Dominican Republic (Punta Cana - SU156/157)", the report reads.

It is possible to ask for a refund at the place of purchase, the company noted.

Updated information on further flights along these routes will be posted on the website and on the airline’s official accounts on social networks.

The UK was the first country to close its airspace to Russian planes late on February 25. On February 27, the foreign ministers of 27 countries of the European Union okayed a full closure of the bloc’s airspace to Russian planes. Canada also closed its airspace to Russian aircraft, as well.
