Russian defense industry quicker than Western one to respond to military needs — Putin

The president noted the work of employees at defense enterprises, staff of related industries, research institutes and design bureaus

MOSCOW, December 19. /TASS/. Russian defense enterprises respond to the needs of the armed forces participating in the special military operation faster and better, compared with their Western competition, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at Defense Ministry meeting.

Addressing the issue of supplying the troops that are engaged in the special military operation, the president said, "Our defense companies respond faster <...> and more accurately [than Western ones] to the needs of those who are fighting on the battlefield."

The president said the goal of providing the troops that are engaged in the special military operation with all they need is the government’s priority now. Putin said the Russian cabinet’s coordination council and the working group of the government’s military-industrial commission have been tasked with making sure the goal is accomplished. In addition, regional heads and representatives of the defense industry also contribute their efforts, the president added.

"And of course, the results are there: The supply of troops is improving," he stated.

In this regard, the president noted the work of employees at defense enterprises, staff of related industries, research institutes and design bureaus. He said they "made a real labor breakthrough," and some of them work in three shifts.

"They have given their response with labor, engineering effort and research to the challenge of the entire potential of the West, which is working to contain Russia and support the Kiev regime, the war in Ukraine," Putin said.
