Russian forces ensure rotation of IAEA observers at Zaporozhye NPP

The Ministry noted that after the engineering reconnaissance was complete, Russian servicemen ensured safe crossing for the observers and their safe arrival at the power plant

MOSCOW, December 6. /TASS/. Russian servicemen ensured the rotation of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) observers at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, the Russian Defense Ministry announced.

"In order to ensure IAEA observers’ security, a ceasefire regime was announced along the entire route starting from the designated crossing point - the destroyed bridge near the settlement of Kamenskoye, Zaporozhye Region - between 06:00 and 18:00, which was strictly complied with by all Russian servicemen," the Ministry said.

The Ministry noted that sappers inspected the crossing point for undetonated foreign and Ukrainian munitions that remain after Ukrainian shellings of the Zaporozhye Region, before the IAEA convoy started moving.

The Ministry noted that after the engineering reconnaissance was complete, Russian servicemen ensured safe crossing for the observers and their safe arrival at the power plant.

According to the Ministry, the mission includes four inspectors, tasked with monitoring and assessment of the state of security of the Zaporozhye NPP.

"After the brief handover of business to the arrived observers, the IAEA representatives that stayed at the power plant during the previous month were safely delivered by Russian Armed Forces and National Guard servicemen to the crossing point, where they departed to Ukrainian territory," the Defense Ministry said.
