MOSCOW, January 23. /TASS/. Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov on Sunday said Russian forces of the Eastern Military District had moved to better positions during an offensive in the Zaporozhye area over the past day.
"Units the Eastern Military District took positions of more advantage during an offensive in the Zaporozhye area. Up to 85 Ukrainian servicemen, an infantry fighting vehicle, two armored combat vehicles and a pickup truck were destroyed in the area over the past day," he said.
According to the spokesman, two D-20 howitzers were destroyed in the area of the settlements of Stepnogorsk in the Zaporozhye Region and Prechistovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and a D-30 howitzer was destroyed in the area of the settlement Preobrazhenka in the Zaporozhye Region.
