9,456 people evacuated from Ukraine, DPR, LPR to Russia in past day - Defense Ministry

The general added that since the beginning of the special military operation, 1,217,681 people had been evacuated, including 211,577 children

MOSCOW, May 11. /TASS/. Russia has evacuated 9,456 people, including 1,353 children, from dangerous areas in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and Ukraine in the past 24 hours, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, the chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Wednesday.

"Despite all the obstacles created by Kiev, 9,456 people, including 1,353 children, have been evacuated to the Russian Federation from dangerous areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and Ukraine in the past 24 hours, without any participation of the Ukrainian authorities," said Mizintsev, who heads the Russian Joint Coordination Headquarters for Humanitarian Response in Ukraine.

The general added that since the beginning of the special military operation, 1,217,681 people had been evacuated, including 211,577 children. He said that 158,066 vehicles crossed the border into Russia since the start of the military operation, 1,415 of them in the past 24 hours.
