Russian armored train evacuates almost 250 foreign citizens from Ukraine to Crimea

The security of transportation of foreign citizens was ensured by a Southern Military District armored train crew, the Black Sea Fleet press office said

SEVASTOPOL, March 8. /TASS/. A Russian Southern Military District armored train evacuated citizens of several states from Ukraine via railway, the Black Sea Fleet press office said Tuesday.

"Today, Southern Military District servicemen delivered 248 citizens of foreign states, including 38 children, form the Kherson Region of Ukraine to the city of Armyansk of the Republic of Crimea. […] The security of transportation of foreign citizens was ensured by a Southern Military District armored train crew. Now, Russia will ensure prompt delivery of all foreign citizens back to their homeland," the statement says.

According to the statement, the armored train evacuated 166 Turkish citizens, 41 Ukrainians, as well as citizens of Egypt, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Sweden, Italy, Brazil, Morocco and India. The evacuees boarded near the settlement of Antonovka in the Kherson Region. The evacuation was carried out on applications, filed in Kherson military office.
