MOSCOW, March 8. /TASS/. Aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed 32 military targets in Ukraine, including 32 staging areas of weapons and military equipment, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Igor Konashenkov told reporters on Tuesday.
"During the day, the Russian Aerospace Forces’ bombers and attack aircraft destroyed 32 military facilities," Konashenkov said.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry spokesman, among the destroyed facilities were four command posts, three radar stations, two fuel depots and 23 staging areas of weapons and military equipment.
On February 24, Putin announced a special military operation in response to a request for help by the heads of the Donbass republics. He stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories, but aims to demilitarize and denazify the country. The Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian troops are not targeting Ukrainian cities, but are incapacitating Ukrainian military infrastructure, therefore there are no threats to the civilian population.
