ST.PETERSBURG, July 29. /TASS/. Twenty large and small ships and boats sail on the Neva River along the English and Palace embankments, for which four drawbridges were raised early on Sunday, TASS reports from the site of the Main Naval Parade marking Russia’s Navy Day.
Counter-terror boats with the Russian flag, the Armed Forces flag and the St. Andrew’s flag are at the head. They are followed by the assault boat D-67 with a replica of Peter the Great’s small boat on board.
Sailing next are the Alexander Obukhov sea trawler, a missile boat of the Molniya-Morshansk project and the newcomer project 22800 GM corvette Uragan armed with Kalibr missiles.
After President Vladimir Putin’s speech on the embankment of the Peter and Paul Fortress, cannons fired in a gun salute accompanied by the national anthem of Russia.
The Main Naval Parade takes part on Navy Day in St. Petersburg. Taking part are 4,000 military and 39 warships.
