KHIMKI, Moscow region, August 19 (Itar-Tass) – The Yabloko Party will nominate a candidate in the mayoral election in Khimki, Moscow region, Yabloko Chairman Sergei Mitrokhin told Itar-Tass on Sunday.
He said they would nominate Yabloko Khimki organization leader Igor Belousov.
“Certainly, it is bad that two opposition candidates will take part in the election, but we think that all the opposition candidates should run for mayor so that we can see who has the biggest support. We will also hold negotiations, in particular, with Yevgenia Chirikova,” he said, referring to the decision of the key Khimki forest defender to take part in the mayoral election.
Belousov participated in the mayoral election in Khimki in 2009 and gained 22% of votes, Mitrokhin said.
