HARARE, June 8. /TASS/. The US started withdrawing its troops from Niger, said Colonel Major Mamane Sani Kiaou, chief of staff of the Nigerien ground forces.

"The US has officially started pulling its troops out of Niger," he was quoted as saying by Afrique Media television.

The US agreed to withdraw its forces at talks in mid-May.
