Gaza Death toll from Israel’s military operation passes 33,400 — Health Ministry

According to the ministry, as many as 76,049 Palestinians have been injured in Gaza

CAIRO, April 10. /TASS/. Over 33,400 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of Israel's military operation in October 2023, the enclave’s Health Ministry said in a statement.

"The number of victims of Israeli’s aggression currently stands at 33,482," the statement reads.

According to the ministry, as many as 76,049 Palestinians have been injured in Gaza.

The bodies of 122 people killed in the previous 24 hours and 56 injured persons were brought to the hospitals in Gaza in the past day, the ministry pointed out.

Tensions in the Middle East flared up again on October 7, 2023, after militants from the radical Palestinian group Hamas launched a surprise incursion into Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, killing residents of border communities and taking people hostage. Israel started carrying out retaliatory strikes on targets in the Strip, as well as on certain areas in Lebanon and Syria. On December 1, 2023, the Israeli army accused Hamas of violating a ceasefire that had taken effect on November 24 and resumed combat operations in the Gaza Strip.
