Israeli army detects launch of 40 shells from Lebanon, fires back

Following the army's press service, the military again said that air raid alerts were sounding in northern parts of the country

TEL AVIV, January 6. /TASS/. The Israeli military recorded the launch of about 40 projectiles from the territory of Lebanon this morning, the army's press service reported.

"Following the sirens that sounded in northern Israel, approximately 40 launches from Lebanon toward the area of Meron in northern Israel were identified," the statement said.

"A short while after, the IDF struck a terrorist cell that took part in the launches," the press service added.

Following the announcement, the military again said that air raid alerts were sounding in northern parts of the country.
