Eight out of 31 newborns evacuated from Gaza’s Al-Shifa Hospital die — TV

According to the report, these eight babies were born prematurely

DUBAI, November 20. /TASS/. At least eight newborns who were evacuated from Al-Shifa Hospital in the Gaza Strip have died, the Al Hadath television channel reported on Monday citing sources in the enclave’s health ministry.

According to Al Hadath, these eight babies were born prematurely. Nothing was said about why the babies died.

Mohammed Zakut, director general for the Gaza network of hospitals, said on November 19 that at least 31 prematurely born babies had been evacuated from Al-Shifa Hospital. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, the evacuation of the newborns was coordinated with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). It was planned to first evacuate the babies to the south of the enclave and then transfer them to a hospital in the United Arab Emirates.
