CAIRO, November 16. /TASS/. A third group of 120 Russian evacuees from the Gaza Strip has left Egypt for Moscow, a TASS correspondent reports.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry's Il-76 airplane left Cairo airport for Moscow's Domodedovo air hub. It is carrying 120 people evacuated over two days through the Rafah checkpoint. They are accompanied by medics and psychologists. The landing is expected in about five hours.
Earlier, two flights brought 168 Russian citizens who had left Gaza to Moscow.
The evacuation from the Gaza Strip of Russian citizens trapped in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone has been organized by the Russian Emergencies Ministry together with diplomats. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said earlier, more than 1,000 people, including both Russian citizens and compatriots, have applied for evacuation. The first special Il-76 aircraft of the Russian Emergencies Ministry with 70 Russian citizens on board landed in Moscow on November 13. Another plane with 98 evacuees arrived at Domodedovo on November 15.
