BEIJING, October 25. /TASS/. China intends to continue to develop trade and investment cooperation with Russia, according to Premier of the State Council of China Li Qiang.
"China is ready to maintain the pace of development of trade and investment cooperation with Russia <...>, deepen cooperation in the energy sector, increase the level of interconnection, as well as liberalize and simplify trade," he was quoted as saying on the Chinese Foreign Ministry's website.
He noted that Beijing intends to continue linking its development strategies with Moscow, in particular to promote further integration of the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, for his part, noted the unprecedented level of Russian-Chinese relations. "Russian-Chinese relations of comprehensive partnership and interaction have reached an unprecedented level and will continue to grow. Our cooperation is based on the values of good neighborliness, equality and mutual respect," he said.
He noted that Russia and China support each other in protecting each other's fundamental interests, closely coordinate their actions in multilateral platforms such as the SCO and BRICS, and together form a multipolar architecture of international relations.
According to Chinese customs, trade turnover between China and Russia in January - September 2023 increased by 29.5% year-on-year and amounted to $176.4 bln.
