BRICS should discuss cybersecurity issues — South African official

According to Advisor to the President of South Africa Joseph Pu, "cyber security is the future"

ST. PETERSBURG, July 30. /TASS/. Cybersecurity matters should be discussed by BRICS member-states, specifically, at the summit level, Advisor to the President of South Africa Joseph Pu told TASS in an interview on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa summit.

"Cyber security must be discussed, because cyber security is the future. It's just like nuclear power. It must be discussed at the BRICS summit," the advisor said.

BRICS countries could develop a common regulatory framework for cybersecurity, Pu noted. "And, if it is possible, to start now, so that in two weeks' time, three weeks' time, we've got something, a draft that we can put on the table that can be discussed," the advisor added.
