No arrest of the former US president is planned

MIAMI, June 13. /TASS/. Former US President Donald Trump will appear in court in Miami, where he will be formally arraigned on federal charges of mishandling classified documents.

The court hearing is scheduled to convene at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time (10:00 pm Moscow Time). No arrest of the former US president is planned. The arraignment procedure is expected to take up to three hours.

The arraignment is the preliminary stage in the legal proceedings. The charges in the indictment will be read to the former president, who will have the opportunity to ask questions about their substance. Additionally, the timeframe for trying the case on the merits will also likely be set at the hearing. Legal practice shows this is not likely to occur before the first half of 2024.

The potential outcome of the litigation remains unclear.
