Less than 15,000 residential buildings flooded in Russia, operational services say

In addition, 27,688 homesteads, 102 low-water bridges and 79 sections of highways have been flooded

TASS, April 16. The number of residential houses flooded on the territory of Russia as a result of spring floods has decreased, less than 15,000 of them remain, the largest number is in the Orenburg Region, operational services told TASS.

"As of the morning of April 16, 14,960 residential buildings in 197 settlements were flooded, of which 14,409 in the Orenburg Region, where the most difficult situation is, 181 in the Samara Region, 305 in the Kurgan Region," the source said.

In addition, 27,688 homesteads, 102 low-water bridges and 79 sections of highways have been flooded. "A total of 1,057 residential buildings and 1,659 areas, 11 low-water bridges and 11 sections of highways were cleared of water during the day," the operational services representative added.

As of the morning of April 15, 27,993 homesteads and 15,641 residential buildings in 193 settlements of Russia’s 33 regions were flooded.
