SIMFEROPOL, June 14. /TASS/. A fluffy toy named Cat Mostik (Little Bridge in Russian) will become one of the major symbols of the Crimean stand at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Director General of Crimea’s Development Corporation Daniil Pidayev told reporters.
"The fluffy blogger Mostik symbolizes a new era of Crimea’s revival, an era of reunification with Russia. Mostik was not only the chronicler of construction, but also a unified symbol of the new history of Russia’s Crimea. Within a short time the splendid Crimean Bridge was built, which links not only the two banks of the Kerch Strait, but it also restores the shared history and broken lives of people," Pidayev noted.
The toys were made for the first time specially for the SPIEF event at the request of the Development Corporation of the Crimean Republic. They will be presented to the investment agreement signatories. The rust-colored feline has a cat news editor ID card, and a bandana around his neck in Russian, English and Chinese that reads "Invest in Crimea."
The republic’s stand is decorated with lavender and Crimean apples, and visitors will get bouquets with fragrant violet flowers and apples, as well as lavender-based sanitizers.
"We demonstrate that Crimea is a point of attraction for business and investments, a comfortable region for work and leisure. The peninsula is actively reviving its essential plant oil industry, gardening and viticulture. We are open to new ideas and projects," Pidayev said.
