MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Speaking to journalists, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov dispelled a rumor that was abuzz today about the ‘death’ of leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) Vladimir Zhirinovsky. The press secretary assured that the veteran politician is alive, but in critical condition, and under medical supervision

"Somebody cooked up this rumor today. It is inappropriate. Thank God, Vladimir Volfovich [Zhirinovsky] is alive, he is still in the hospital, in serious condition, and under medical supervision," Peskov affirmed.

Reports of Zhirinovsky’s death appeared earlier, but were debunked by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.

On February 9, the Russian Health Ministry’s press office reported that Zhirinovsky, 75, was in the Central Clinical Hospital suffering from Covid. According to the Ministry, the politician was hospitalized on February 2. On March 11, he was brought back from an induced coma.
