SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 25. /TASS/. The Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom has started tests of the unique equipment to produce an innovative nuclear fuel on the site of the Proryv (Breakthrough) project in Seversk, the Tomsk Region, TASS reports.

The official event in the telebridge regime took place as part of the Atomexpo-2024 forum.

A unique innovative power generating unit with a fast neutron reactor, a module for production of uranium-plutonium nuclear fuel, and a module for irradiated fuel are being built as part of the project on the site of the Siberian Chemical Plant. For the first time in global practice, a nuclear power plant with a fast reactor and the near-plant closed nuclear fuel cycle will be constructed.
