CHISINAU, November 12. /TASS/. At a meeting with Russian Ambassador Oleg Ozerov, Moldovan Foreign Ministry officials raised concerns about Russian drones allegedly spotted over the country’s territory on November 10.
"The Foreign Ministry <...> strongly condemned the violation of Moldova's airspace, given the fact that two Russian drones were spotted on Moldova's sovereign territory on November 10 this year - one in the Causeni Region and the other in Riscani," the Moldovan Foreign Ministry's press service said following the meeting with the Russian diplomat.
The Moldovan General Police Inspectorate previously reported that two downed drones were found in the north and south of the country on November 10. One was discovered near the village of Firladeni, close to the town of Causeni, and the other near the village of Borosenii Noi in the Riscani district. The police released photos of the drones, which were made of cardboard and had no explosives.
Moldova has repeatedly accused Russia of leaving UAV debris on its territory, although most were identified by experts as boosters from Ukrainian air defense missiles. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova firmly rejected Chisinau's accusations that Russian UAVs had allegedly violated Moldovan airspace, calling them unfounded.
