MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will soon pay an official visit to China for talks with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a news briefing.
"Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will soon visit the Chinese People’s Republic. He is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. We will announce the date jointly with our Chinese colleagues," the Russian diplomat said.
The two top diplomats will discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation and interaction in the international arena with a focus on joint work at the United Nations, BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the G20, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and other multilateral venues, Zakharova specified. Lavrov and Wang "are expected to exchange opinions on topical issues and regional agendas, including the Ukraine crisis, the situation in the Asia-Pacific and other issues," she added.
Lavrov last visited Beijing in October. During that visit, he discussed efforts to boost cooperation in Eurasia and prospects of Russia’s BRICS presidency.
