MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. Russia’s Investigative Committee has decided to bestow an award on the boy who saved his sister during the shelling of the Belgorod Region by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russian Investigative Committee’s press service told TASS.

The ministry noted that during the shelling of the Belgorod region’s territory by the Ukrainian Armed Forces of Ukraine, a 9-year-old boy from the village of Belovsky shielded his nine-month-old sister. Thanks to his heroism, tragedy was averted. Both children were injured and rushed to hospital. The boy sustained numerous injuries to the soft tissue of his feet and a brain injury; the girl sustained injuries to the face, hand and also a brain injury.

According to the latest information, they have received the necessary assistance and have been discharged from the hospital.

"The Russian Investigative Committee will establish the circumstances of the incident, and a legal assessment will be given to the actions of all those involved. Alexander Bastrykin instructed the relevant departments of the Investigative Committee of Russia to give an award to the boy who saved his sister," the ministry said in a statement.
