MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russia’s Emergencies Ministry has shipped another batch of humanitarian aid for residents of the embattled Gaza Strip, the ministry said in a statement.
"The Russian Emergencies Ministry’s special Il-76 aircraft has departed for the El Arish airport [in Egypt]. The 18-ton shipment consists of medicines and medical supplies for the injured," the statement reads.
Humanitarian aid is being provided to the Palestinians based on orders from Russian President Vladimir Putin and instructions from Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov.
To date, 16 flights from Russia have delivered about 370 tons of food, drugs, clothing and other basic necessities to the conflict-stricken enclave.
