MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin and his Iranian counterpart Ali Bagheri Kani have discussed the situation in the South Caucasus and the Ukrainian conflict, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"There was a detailed discussion of the current situation in the South Caucasus," the statement reads. "The importance of implementing multilateral agreements on stabilizing the regional situation was emphasized, particularly based on the outcome of a ministerial meeting of the 3+3 platform for the South Caucasus, which took place in Tehran on October 23," the document added.
The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that the parties also "exchanged views on pressing issues related to Central Asia and the conflict in Ukraine."
The senior Russian and Iranian diplomats agreed to maintain contact on regional issues of mutual interest, the ministry said.
